Maria Dittrich obtained her Ph.D. in Aquatic Ecology from the Institute for Freshwater Ecology and Fisheries in Berlin, Germany. She further achieved her habilitation in biogeochemistry at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. Currently, Dr. Dittrich holds the position of a professor at the University of Toronto, Canada.
Her expertise encompasses biomineralization, geomicrobiology, and biogeochemistry, with a particular emphasis on applications in the oil and gas sector.
