Ibrahim Banat is a professor of microbial biotechnology at the School of Biomedical Sciences, Ulster University, UK. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Essex and has accumulated over 35 years of experience in academic and research institutions. His research focuses on biosurfactant and bioactive production, exploring their potential applications in environmental oil pollution control, hydrocarbon-polluted land bioremediation, and microbial-enhanced oil recovery. Dr. Banat also possesses a keen interest and extensive experience in fermentation technologies, biofuel, wastewater treatment, thermophilic bacteria, bioethanol, and various microbial biotechnology applications.
